I have also noticed that the muscular effort required to lift the dumbbell for the 9th and 10th time is usually replaced with the vocal effort described above. It is almost as if the mind consoles itself thus - "so what if i cant finish this set by the use of my gluteus maximus muscles. The laryngeal effort should distract the rest of the gym members from observing my inability to finish rep 9 and 10"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
