Yesterday marked another failure by the Weather bureau to make the right call. Contrary to expectations of another scorcher, the Delhi evening was softened by some rain. To some degree. The rain had an unpleasant solidity to it. Driving home one got the feeling of being in a thin tin shell, sporadically subjected to a hosing of hot grit and sand. An unpleasant and dirty sort of a rain. Of course, it did seem much better from the inside of an air-conditioned cabin of an SUV doing 80 mph on the Expressway. I suppose it could be worse.
